A year after the re-unification of the Gbis, it was decided that annual festivals to commemorate this re-unification be instituted. It was also decided that the festival of the Gbis be called GBIDUKORZA.

The Gbidukorza is unique among the various festivals in Ghana which are mainly derived from a season, either hunting, farming, fishing, or related to the heroic performances of their ancestors in establishing their states; as it focused on strengthening the bond between the re-united Gbis and also created a platform for accelerated development of both Dzigbe (within the Hohoe Traditional Area) and Anyigbe (within the Peki Traditional Area).
